Sung Park took out his first big tournament win at The Jack 2017. At the end of day two, both of which had reached temperatures of 40 degrees Sung came up trumps in the 36 hole pro-am. Day one leader Tom McLaine was the last to come in and the result all came down to the final shot.
The 29-year-old Sung had dropped one shot on Wednesday to finish two under and was waiting for overnight leader Tom McLaine, who was with the last group, to make his way in. McLaine was also two under and seemingly made par on the 18th hole, leaving Park preparing for a play-off. But word quickly filtered through that McLaine copped a penalty stroke for an unplayable ball, meaning a bogey on the last and a breakthrough victory for Park by the narrowest of margins.
